Make Your Business Successful: Be More Effective And Drop The Bone

Success is what you want for you and your business, isn’t it? Although success means different things to different people, there are some ingredients that are necessary to have in the mix. One of the most important ingredients is being effective as a businessperson. So, whether your business is small or large, new or growing, you need to be effective.

Being effective is doing the right things well. Now, its simple to say that youre choosing to be more effective, but following this through with actually being effective isnt always easy. Its a journey and there will be roadblocks along the way. First youll need to identify these obstacles and beware, because theyre not always obvious and not always easy to identify. After all, your ego will be kicking and screaming to keep you where you are. Your ego doesnt want you to change and will do everything it can to stop you and this is often done in very subtle ways.

Being more effective will require you to be more self-aware and to observe whats going on. This isnt an opportunity to give yourself a hard time or to keep asking why. That gets you nowhere. Its an opportunity to observe with detachment, notice things and then choose different actions.

So, what do you notice that blocks you from being effective? One possible obstacle is what a friend and I have nicknamed the Dog With a Bone Syndrome. You know how when a dog starts gnawing on a bone he doesnt want to let go at all. Well, as people, we can be similar when were faced either with a problem or were doing something that clearly isnt working. We keep on trying to do something about it, change it or resolve it, but it doesnt seem to matter what we do, nothing changes and progress certainly isnt being made. In trying to do something about it our mind chatter kicks in and adds to it with Just try one more thing, Perhaps you just need more information or Im sure the solution will come soon. These are all ways in which your ego tries to keep you stuck where you are and not change.

All the time your ego is keeping you here, youre not moving towards being more effective. When you keep trying youre like the dog hanging on to the bone for dear life. This stifles your creativity and your own ability to come up with answers and solutions. Youre attached to this too tightly and need to let it go. Your ego will fight to stop you from letting go. It can be interesting to observe this fight within yourself. You need to shift from your ego and conscious mind, to your body and sense of being. To shift here, you need to be totally present and to let all thoughts go. When youre finally able to let it go, it will come back when the time is right and solutions will appear. I find this particularly if I let something go prior to sleeping. The answers or ideas are often there clearly for me when I awake.

I invite you to be more effective and take a few minutes to answer these questions for yourself. What you need to let go of so that you can be more effective? What is currently going on for you thats making you struggle or try too hard? If you let this go, what different actions do you need to take?

Increase your self-awareness so that you notice and observe the obstacles, and then choose different actions. Your level of effectiveness will increase and affect the level of your business success.

How To Use Autoresponder As A ListBuilding And Prospecting Tool

Filed Under (EngineerArticles) by articles man on 21-11-2008

One of the great features that you can have from an autoresponder is automatic response to anyone who requests more information about your business.

You’ll, then, take advantage of this feature to help automate your list-building and prospecting process (sometimes up to the sign up process), if you do it correctly.

What you need to do is prepare 5 to 7 messages about your business and upload them into your autoresponder system. Set these messages to be delivered 2 to 3 days apart so that anyone requesting information from you will get all your messages in a sequence over a period of about 3 weeks.

Then, give a reason why anyone should be on your mailing list.

Here is a brief example of how you can customize your autoresponder with 7 messages.

Message #1: Sent Immediately
In this message, you can thank the persons who requested the business information from you. Tell a little background about you and encourage these persons to contact you and ask any question about your business. Then, leave a link to your MLM website so that they can explore the opportunity themselves.

Message #2: Sent 2 days apart
In this message, let them know the benefits of your own products and how these products are unique from others. Leave a link to your MLM website and encourage them to contact you.

Message #3: Sent 3 days apart
In this message, brief them about the Internet MLM in general and how people make money from the Internet and MLM. Then, leave a link to your MLM website and encourage them to contact you.

Message #4: Sent 2 days apart
In this message, explain to them the opportunity to make an extra recurring and growing income from your business. Remind them about the concept of MLM that you mentioned in your previous email. At the end of your message, leave a link to your MLM website and encourage them to contact you.

Message #5: Sent 4 days apart
In this message, let them know how you can help them achieve success in your Internet MLM business. Tell them the system you are using and the support group that you have. Let them evaluate if your business is the right one for them. Then, leave a link to your MLM website and encourage them to contact you.

Message #6: Sent 2 days apart
In this message, put a few testimonials from happy customers or members that have been working the business with you. Make it a point that they can do the same part time. Again, leave a link to your MLM website and encourage them to contact you.

Message #7: Sent 3 days apart
In this message, ask their feedback about your Internet MLM program. Mention that you’re doing a survey of why some people are not open to this type of business or why they are hesitant to join. You’ll get some good feedback of the concerns that other people have about your program and if these concerns arise again, you can expect some answers that you can give to your prospects. Lastly, leave a link to your MLM website and encourage them to contact you.

These are just sample email templates that you can write and upload them into your autoresponder system. They don’t have to be in an order like above and they don’t have to be only 7 of them. You can write as many as you want about any subjects that you like. However, observe that in every email message that you write, you want to end with a call of action for your prospects to visit your MLM website or contact you for more information. A good MLM website, with direct-marketing sales copy, can do business presentation for you and potentially sign up these prospects without having you to tell them how they can join your business.

Don’t be surprised to have people sign up in your team even before they contact you in person. On the Internet, it’s possible.

Now that you have your messages uploaded into your autoresponder system, you want to let a lot of people know about your opportunity. But, before that, you need to give a reason why these people should request more information from you and be in your mailing list.

Employee Partnership Through Delegation

Filed Under (EngineerArticles) by articles man on 20-11-2008

Tagged Under : , , , , , , , ,

A true leader displays personal power rather than position power. Leading the charge is an important element in partnering with your employees. When I was a child, my mother would say, Do as I say and not as I do. Which choice do you think I made? Sure, I’d do as my mother did and frequently got in trouble for my actions. If this scenario sounds familiar, you better change your approach. Be sure you’re prepared to live the values you professyour people will ‘hear’ what they ’see,’ not what you say. -Dan McNamara, Senior Vice President, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America

If you want to develop high performance employee partnerships, you must do so by example. One way to lead by example is to exhibit self-confidence. You can show that you are a confident leader. A leader has personal power. A boss gets his or her power from the title on a business card. Show your confidence by delegating tasks and responsibilities to your team members. Delegate in a way that builds alliance relationships so team members become interdependent with one another rather than dependent or independent. This will give you an integrated organization.

Listed below are some tips for high-performance employee partnering delegation:

1. Adjust your attitude and be willing to hand over control, if you can.

2. Identify which tasks can be delegated and then define the delegation for your employee.

3. Create a training program because delegating without educating is a formula for disaster.

4. Show trust in your team and encourage trust between members. Your employees will enjoy no greater honor than your trust.

5. Spell-out the limits, explain results wanted and define authority. Create a safety net so individuals can take risks. If they make a mistake, still acknowledge the risk they took. This will go a long way in building a robust relationship.

6. Ask for, and agree on a project/delegation deadline. Wow, what a concept, let them tell you when they can get it done. First give the time parameters and then get out of their way.

7. Set intermediate goals and check to be sure the goals are being achieved. Regular follow-up is crucial to success. Be careful though, a new employee needs much more follow up than one who has been around for years.

8. Delegate with a purpose, no busy work. Explain the reason for the delegation and how the activity affects the workplace in total. Your employee will then have buy-in or better yet, an ownership in the project.

9. Delegate the what, not the how and get out of the way. Do not micro-manage. Micro-management is the kiss of death in building partnering relationships with employees.

10. Be honest with your team members and assign tasks fairly based on ability and past performance. Be careful of the teachers pet syndrome. Discrimination for whatever reason is destructive to workplace harmony.

11. Avoid perfectionism, especially if you are one of those analytical types. Give people a reasonable margin got error and accept that different can also be effective.

12. Debrief after the project delegated is complete. Ask for feedback from the person you delegated the task to. Did you give them the authority and tools necessary to successfully complete the delegated task within the deadline? Also give helpful feedback to your employee on how they could improve the next they receive a delegated task.

13. Do not take on the projects of others until you are sure you want the responsibility. If you take on something from your team members, which they should be doing, you can easily become the supervised rather than the supervisor.

Do most, if not all, of the things listed above and you must be successful in building synergistic employee partnerships and developing empowered employees. Empowered employees take risks, are innovative and make the kind of decision that you would make. What more could you ask for as a leader? Good luck and much success.

Zero To Hero How A Homemaker Became A Successful Entrepreneur

Filed Under (EngineerArticles) by articles man on 20-11-2008

Chekan (pronounced Chek-Ahn) is a simple, wonderfully resourceful and positive lady who is one of the few friends who inspire me. This is simple account of how this stay-at-home Mom became an Entrepreneur who couldn’t stop making money even if she tried!

Like many women, Chekan had simple expectations in life. She was was contented to be a stay-at-home Mom, taking care of her family, but When her kids were older and didn’t need so much attention, she found a job at a major electronics production factory to keep busy and make a little extra money. She began picking up English simply to better herself. Eventually, her proficiency in English helped her secure a job in the company where I worked some ten years ago.

In her second year as receptionist in the company, fate took a cruel twist and changed her direction in life. Her husband was diagnosed with a illness which was potentially life-threatening. Faced with the very real possibility that she might have to be the sole bread winner, she did some serious thinking before joining a network marketing program dealing with household products. Although it was difficult at first, she carried on simple for the love of her family. She learnt the ropes of network marketing and quickly moved up the ladder to success. After approximately four years, she had six hundred members in her downline. Anyone involved in network marketing will tell you that this is a major achievement. She trained her downline well, encouraging them to succeed for their own betterment. This in turned, produced an army who worked hard, earning Chekan an impressive monthly commission to match her soaring reputation. She eventually reached an earnings level where she was rewarded with a brand new car fully paid for by the network marketing organization. Despite the many monetary and tangible rewards, what was more important was that Chekan had awakened the entrepreneur within her.

As Chekan moved on from success to success in her part-time network marketing business, she continued to keep her full-time job as a receptionist. She was later posted to a newly set-up division of the company, as an administrator. Most people thought this division was a waste of money and resources, resigning it to certain failure. As luck would have it, Chekan’s manager eventually resigned leaving Chekan who was the one who knew best the operation of the office - with the responsibility of running that office. Talk was that it would be a temporary situation, but Chekan, through sheer hard work proved everybody wrong and built that division into a veritable money making machine, using the skills and smarts that she learnt while building her network marketing business. We used to joke that this one-time homemaker now had more people working for her in her full time job and part-time network marketing than the boss of her full-time job!

I was privileged to work with Chekan for about a year before I left to set up my own businesses. I marveled at the workings of this God-fearing woman who by this time, could not stop making money even if she wanted to. Chekan is a perfect example of how to turn a crisis into opportunity and more. She now teaches ordinary women who were once like her to succeed and build a better life for themselves.

The lesson learnt from Chekan is simple. No matter who and what your circumstances are, you have the potential within you to achieve more than you ever dreamt possible. You CAN turn from a zero to a hero!

Let them evaluate if your business is the right one for them. Then, leave a link to your MLM website and encourage them to contact you.

In this message, put a few testimonials from happy customers or members that have been working the business with you. Make it a point that they can do the same part time. Again, leave a link to your MLM website and encourage them to contact you.

How To Use Autoresponder As A ListBuilding And Prospecting Tool
